Will my champagne be tainted if I store it in the ash of my wood- and coal- burning fireplace?

I stored my champagne in the ash of my coal burning fireplace, which hasn't been used in like 15 years. Can the coal ash possibly the gl and poison the booze? I suppose my question involves gauging the permeability of gl as well as the toxicity of coal ash. I hope someone possesses this vital knowledge and is willing to share it with me, because I want to drink.
