To be or not to be a Godless Heathen?

me being a follower of Odin and the Asatru faith, I will proudly be known as a Heathen, but being a "Godless Heathen" seems a bit contradictory to me. It is to my understanding that the definition of Heathen is not to be of the Christian, Muslim, or Jewish faith. But that it is also synonymous with Pagan. Not to mention that the Asatru is a polytheistic religion. Doesn't it seem to be a contradiction of interests?
