Business partner owes me money, his share which he never paid?

I purchased a business w/a friend, took a 2nd on home to pay. Business partner kept promising to pay instead remodeled his rental w/money he owed me. He has admitted to his attorney owing me money. My attorney never attained an acceptable negotiation & other attorney frustrated because my business partner will not listen thinking he can get away w/out paying. I have been dealing w/this for almost 2 yrs w/my attorney, no resolution.I lost my job, my attorney will not continue the case unless I pay. Any recommendation on how I can get my money. it is almost 70k. Doing it wihout litigation or arbitration is less expensive My attorney promised to make it happen, yet I have nothing but bills from him and no money from my business partner. HELP!!
